Di Ujung Bahasa (At the End of Language) contains 116 poems of the celebrated Indonesian poet, essayist and public intellectual Goenawan Mohamad, collected between 1961 and 2022—a whopping 60 years of poetry writing. Curated and introduced (featuring a prologue and an epilogue on the intrinsic relationship between poetry and painting) by Laksmi—who previously curated and translated two collections of Goenawan’s poetry and aphorism—this volume is also the first attempt at anthologizing a combination of his poetry and his visual work.* Beautifully designed by Hermawan Tanzil of Le.Bo.Ye, Di Ujung Bahasa aims to capture Goenawan Mohamad the Poet and Goenawan Mohamad the Painter.
